Come and See

Everyone everywhere, lift up your joyful shout to God! Sing your songs tuned to his glory! Tell the world how wonderful he is. For he’s the awe-inspiring God, great and glorious in power! We’ve never seen anything like him! Mighty in miracles, you cause your enemies to tremble. No wonder they all surrender and bow before you! All the earth will bow down to worship; all the earth will sing your glories forever! Pause in his presence Everyone will say, “Come and see the incredible things God has done; it will take your breath away! He multiplies miracles for his people! Psalms 66:1-5

Today my sweet Mama had her last cancer treatment. This journey started November 2019 when her breast cancer returned and she had a bilateral mastectomy (on her birthday). This is part of the post I shared.
The doctors said the cancer was minimally invasive, but we all felt very strongly she should have the bilateral mastectomy since this is a recurrence. And we praise God for Holy Spirit urgency. At her follow-up with her surgeon, we were surprised to learn her breast had VERY INVASIVE cancer that didn’t show on the mammogram . . . BUT GOD ordered our steps and mama got the surgery He knew she would need.
Trials are just for a little while, but heaven is FOREVER. We should start being surprised by the EASE of life, rather than being surprised when we go through difficulty. Trials prove the genuineness of your faith and purify your faith. We grow through hard things. Pain loosens our grip on this world and forces our roots into God and His strength. Even weak steps of faith are genuine faith.
God is at work. He sees you. He loves you. Psalm 73:26 - My flesh and my heart may fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Please continue to pray her restored health and no more cancer. I am in awe of the strength of my mother πŸ’•

This week had some very hard and dark parts ... but God was there. Through my tears, through the pain, in every moment, I knew He was near. And when I grew afraid, dear family, friends and neighbors held me up. “And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness.” Romans 8:26 πŸ’•
